Counting the Cost to Follow
RUN Global instructs new converts in baptism, as a key step of obedience and identification with Jesus Christ. Because all false gods are renounced, baptized Asian Christians are targeted for added persecution. Jesus told people to count the cost of salvation and discipleship, but South Asian Christians are honored to suffer for Christ.
Recently a RUN Team Member visited a family that attended one of RUN Global’s Discovery Bible Studies. This family had been deeply troubled and would single out their Christian neighbor, Renu, in jealousy and anger. Renu stood firm, however. Later, Doma, a family member, asked the study group to pray and intercede when she was diagnosed with heart disease. She was healed, and Doma and her entire family trusted Jesus for salvation and then were boldly baptized! Their study group has now grown to become a church! Praise God for the heroic acts of our field workers to go and witness and baptize in the face of persecution.
