The International Churches of Christ
This cult has destroyed families and their pattern of behavior is worth watching. Visit an International Christian Church (ICOC) and you’ll meet friendly, loving people. Hugs are prevalent at meetings and most of the sermons sound as solid as anything you’ll enjoy at an evangelical church.
But once a member joins a small group fellowship in the cult, extreme peer pressure is used to get members to commit more fully, to spending most of their former free time in discipleship with church members. Discipleship includes blushingly intimate questions that most Christians would not ask, even in private accountability sessions, and the knowledge that salvation is only found inside the ICOC movement.
…The Spirit explicitly says that in later times some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, by means of the hypocrisy of liars seared in their own conscience as with a branding iron, who forbid marriage and advocate abstaining from foods which God has created to be gratefully shared in by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with gratitude; for it is sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer.
